Credits & billing

How requests are metered, reserved, settled and refunded.

Every API request is paid for in credits — the same balance you see on the Usage page. There's no separate API bill.

Where credits come from#

Your balance has two parts, and Vaelor always spends them in this order:

  1. Plan credits refresh every 12 hours, at 00:00 and 12:00 UTC. Unused plan credits don't roll over.
  2. Permanent credits come from credit packs, welcome bonuses and rewards. They never expire.
PlanCredits per refreshCredits per dayPrice

Basic125250$8 / month
Plus300600$15 / month
Pro7501,500$30 / month
Max3,0006,000$100 / month

Permanent credits cost 500 per $1, with bonus credits at $10 and above. See Pricing for current offers.

How a request is charged#

Billing happens in three steps, so you're never charged for work that didn't finish.

  1. Reserve. When a request arrives, Vaelor reserves its minimum or quoted cost. If your balance can't cover it, the request fails immediately with 402.
  2. Settle. When the work completes, the reservation is replaced with the real cost — for chat, that's based on the tokens actually used.
  3. Refund. If generation fails or the client disconnects mid-stream, the reservation is released.

Costs#

Chat#

Chat is metered by tokens, combined across input and output and rounded up, with a minimum of 1 credit per response.

Text
credits = max(1, ceil(input_tokens / input_rate + output_tokens / output_rate))

The rates for each tier are listed in Models. A 2,000-token prompt with a 500-token reply on medium costs ceil(2000/6500 + 500/2000) = 1 credit. The same request on high costs ceil(2000/900 + 500/200) = 5 credits.

Music#

Tracks cost 1 credit per second of requested duration — 180 credits for a three-minute song. The full cost is reserved up front and refunded if generation fails. Writing assist uses Flash token pricing.

Tool calls#

Tools used during deep-research chats and OSINT runs are charged per successful call:
